40 HOUR SITE SAFETY CERTIFICATION COURSE
This preparatory course is required by the NYC Department of Buildings before taking the written examination for a New York City Certified Site Safety Manager. Site Safety Managers are mandated to be on site for the construction of new buildings of 15 or more stories, or 200 feet or more in height, or with a lot coverage of more than 100,000 square feet.
30 HOUR OSHA COURSE ON CONSTRUCTION SAFETY AND HEALTH (29CFR1926) -
10 HOUR OSHA SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARDS COURSE—
This is a survey course on OSHA standards designed for on-site foreman, crew chiefs and tradesmen (competent persons) working for general contractors and sub contractors. Topics include: review of OSHA standards general safety and training procedures, securing of open walls and floors, electrical safety, fire safety material handling and storage, etc. Upon successful completion, students receive a 10 hour completion card approved by the OSHA Training Institute of the Department of Labor.This course is for superintendents, project managers and safety directors (competent persons) who carry a company wide or job specific responsibility for safety compliance. Topics include: review of OSHA standards, in depth safety and training procedures, definition of “competent person” in each several disciplines, securing of open walls and stairways, electrical safety, fire safety etc. Students receive a 30 Hour OSHA completion card upon successful completion
DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSE
Defensive Driving Course(s) New York State Point/Insurance reduction program in accordance with standards prescribed by the National Safety Council and regulations prescribed by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
7 HOUR SITE SAFETY MANAGER REFRESHER COURSE
New York City requires certified Site Safety Managers to complete a 7 hour refresher course every three years in order to renew their certificates. The course gives an overview of New York City regulation requiring the filing of a site safety program for the construction of new buildings covered by these rulings, reviews the duties of site safety managers and discusses recent revisions to relevant laws. Successful candidates receive completion certificates that are accepted for license renewals
SCAFFOLDING TRAINING COURSE
The successful completion of this course is required by the NYC Department of Buildings as a prerequisite for obtaining a Certificate of Fitness for a licensed rigger or designated rigging foreman. Four different DOB approved classes are offered, and are taught in English, Spanish and Polish for varying skills levels ranging from no scaffold or rigging experience to scaffold and rigging pros with extensive field experience.
JOB SPECIFIC TRAINING
This course is intended as an orientation/training program for specific projects. Courses are tailored to the specific safety hazards that will be encountered on the project site
